LowCal 250 Motorcycle rally, April 23, 2011

Well, I ended up coming in 11th out of 28! Not too shabby for my first motorcycle rally.

I also ended up with the distinction of riding the most miles.

Here are the results: http://www.lowcal250.com/2011.htm
Thanks to my mom for provding short-notice assistance with 1120 points (280 points each for 4 people photographed inside the IB surfboard sculpures).
I headed due east to visit the Whistler Mudpots in Imperial. Then to Salvation Mountain. I snapped up points at Butterfield Ranch off the S-2 and decoded the Aztec calendar @ SDSU for almost 400 points. I bypassed Julian and made it back with 4 minutes to spare. Now THAT is cutting it close.

The wind was tough. It lifted a 500 lb bike off the ground. Rough stuff.
